A new study suggests that fortnightly gigattendance extends life expectancy by nine years.

In fact, just 20 minutes at a concert can increase your wellbeing by 21 percent—compared to 10 percent for yoga and 7 percent for dog-walking.
事實上,聽20分鐘演唱會,就能讓人的幸福感提高21%,相比之下,練瑜珈能讓人的幸福感提升10%,遛狗後的幸福感提升7%。

The report, commissioned by O2 (owner of some of the UK’s largest music venues) and Goldsmiths University of London, reveals “the power of live music on the human body and mind.”

Based on psychometric and heart-rate testsof a range of advantageous activities—including exercise and puppy playtime—itturns out people feel their best while attending a music performance.

The gig experience, O2 claimed, boosted participants’ perception of wellbeing: Feelings of self-worth and closeness toothers rose 25 percent, and mental stimulation skyrocketed by 75 percent.

“Our research showcases the profound impact gigs have on feelings of health, happiness, and wellbeing—with fortnightly or regular attendance being the key,” Patrick Fagan, expert in behavioral science and associate lecturer at Goldsmith’s University, said in a statement.
倫敦大學金史密斯學院行為科學專家兼副教授Patrick Fagan聲稱:「我們的研究顯示了演唱會對健康感、幸福感的深遠影響,關鍵在於每兩周或定期觀看演唱會。」

Additional analysis shows that those whofrequent live concerts are most likely to score happiness, contentment,productivity, and self-esteem at the highest level (10 out of 10).
進一步分析,那些經常到現場觀看演唱會的人在幸福感、滿意度、工作效率和自尊心方面都有可能獲得最高分。

“Combining all of our findings with O2's research, we arrive at aprescription of a gig a fortnight which could pave the way for almost a decade more years of life,” Fagan explained.
Fagan 表示,我們將所有的發現與O2的研究結合,找到了可延壽近10年的方法,那就是兩周聽一次演唱會。
